Drawn from the sunny shores of Jersey, Gibraltar and small towns across the UK, 6 young people with a passion for music and songwriting congregated in the UK’s most iconic musical city Manchester. Coming from smaller areas of the world, having to deal with change, independence and living far away from home, Young Monarch’s music sheds light on the emotional vulnerability of young people and the trials and tribulations faced when growing up.
Young Monarch create explosive and emotional ‘pop with an edge’. With powerful female vocals, delicate violin hooks and driving guitar parts, Young Monarch combine their classical, contemporary and jazz backgrounds to create a fresh approach on today’s indie-pop scene that stands them apart from their Mancunian counterparts.
Debut single ‘vacant’ released at the end of January has received high praise amongst industry professionals, including numerous radio plays from stations such as Radio X and BBC introducing. Recent highlights include an opening slot for the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, festival spots at Dot 2 Dot, The Great Escape, Head For The Hills & Beat The Streets on top of a packed out launch gig in Manchester. Looking forward to releasing 4 more singles later this year alongside live dates in the UK and Europe and festival performances, Young Monarch are ‘quick rising stars’ determined to be the UK’s next big ‘up and coming’ band.
